What keeps you up at night? Does it make you lose sleep at night sometimes? I’ll tell you mine. Having a child in this world. I have two children and we want four. One day I could be responsible for four children in this world. I’ll up the ante on this. Having children in this world without me or my wife as their parents. There will be a world one day for your children where you aren’t there for them. You won’t be able to pick up their call. I’ll be honest some days it scares the ever-loving piss out of me. I lose sleep as I mentioned, and I definitely cry. I did multiple times writing this and proofreading it. My two little girls have made me a big softie, and I thank them for that. I know a love I never knew I could have. Our best bet is God and the scripture.
“Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.”- Proverbs 22:6
My wife and I work hard and are intentional most of time with them even at a young age. It’s a daily process for when they all become adults, and when that day comes when we aren’t there for them.
“A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children.”- Proverbs 13:22
We will leave them a monetary inheritance; but we will leave them more than just that. We will leave them with a work ethic, morals, honor, integrity, and good money management skills. It all goes back to how you should train your child.
So, are you demonstrating good money management skills and knowledge for your children to pick up on? Do you want those behaviors to be better than what they are? Do you want your children to not mishandle the legacy you leave them? Do you want to be ready when you do have children? Then I invite you to have a conversation with me and I would love to hear how this article impacted you.
Here to serve.
